Booking Policy

Gypsea Tails Standard Booking terms apply to all reservations made under a direct contract with Gypsea Tails (phone, email, Gypsea Tails website, or in-person).  Exact terms may vary for bookings made through a third-party agent, website, or service.  Third-party booking terms are final, and exceptions cannot be made by Gypsea Tails.

50% minimum deposit or payment in full is required to secure all future services  Bookings cannot be held on a tentative basis without a paid deposit.

Reservations for which part payment has not been received will be deemed as invalid and cancelled 24 hours from the time which the booker was contacted for alternative payment.  This contact may be by phone, email, or text message.

All advertised rates are published in $AUD and inclusive of Goods Service Tax (GST/VAT) and may be subject to change. Travel costs will be calculated with the Meet and Greet session.

Cancellation / Amendment Terms

  • cancellation 4 days prior to Overnight Pet Services- a full refund will be provided
  • cancellation outside 4 days notice prior to service – non-refundable, the full deposit or payment to date is forfeited. Gypsea Tails may accept a new service date if available.
  • cancellation of Dog Walking Services prior to 24 hours notice will be charged the full service.
  • amendment to the service date is permitted 7 days or more prior to the booking. Amendments are permitted on one occasion – after which the booking is fully non-refundable or amendable. Additional costs or restrictions may apply to alternate dates chosen. 
  • Gypsea Tails recommends individual pet insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for fees and charges in the event of requiring veterinary care for your pets.

COVID-19 Temporary Cancellation Conditions: 

In such event that Federal or State issued COVID-19 travel restrictions prevent travel to either you, or your travelling companions, ‘Gypsea Tails’ will (up until the day of arrival), allow a deferral of the reservation as an exception to the extenuating circumstances below. This deferral, issued in the form of a booking extension voucher, will allow the full booking deposit to be retained, and used towards future services at ‘Gypsea Tails’ within a period of 12 months.

Extenuating Circumstances

Where death, severe illness or serious injury occurs in the immediate family before or during the booking period and written details (such as a certificate) has been received by Gypsea Tails – a refund may be offered outside of the Standard Booking Terms.

Other extenuating circumstances not outlined above may be considered on a case by case basis by Gypsea Tails.  

Gypsea Tails will typically reject a claim for a refund based on circumstances outside of its control including but not limited to:

  • unfavourable weather conditions;
  • personal decisions to change visit plans or conflicting personal commitments;
  • failure to obtain a transport booking; the failure of transport to operate; or travel restrictions;
  • disruption to local utilities (electricity, phone coverage etc) or infrastructure (parking, road access restrictions etc) out of the control of Gypsea Tails.
  • ill health or sickness unless life-threatening.
  • Natural disaster including but not limited to fire; flood; cyclone; or health pandemic. Including instances where Gypsea Tails is affected and unable to supply services.

Gypsea Tails recommends individual pet insurance.

Age

You must be at least 18 years of age to book any services displayed on this website or over the phone at Gypsea Tails. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Refunds

  • accepted refunds shall be credited to a bank account only.
  • refunds typically process within 5 working days, but in some circumstances may take up to 10 days to process.
  • cash refunds will not be provided under any circumstances.
  • all refunds will be made in $AUD. Gypsea Tails bares no responsibility for changes in international currency conversion rates or bank international exchange fees which may impact refund amounts.

While every effort is made to adhere to the advertised timetables and charges, the operators of Gypsea Tails reserve the right to alter or cancel any service or charge at any time.

Payment Policy

Gypsea Tails will advise the costs and payment details for services prior to the date. Payment is by cash or bank deposit. A minimum of a 50% deposit at the time of making a booking is to secure services with the balance to be paid in full within 7 days of the service being carried out. Unless Pet Sitting Overnight and long Pet Sitting, the full amount is required before your pet is returned into your care.

Payment options are a great way for you to secure your larger booking event with Gypsea Tails and spread the cost over time. We have some important terms and conditions that you need to be aware of before you go ahead with paying in installments. 

GENERAL TERMS

Payment options only apply to selected services with Gypsea Tails. A transaction fee of $2 per payment instalment may apply.

Payment Options will be available (unless otherwise stated) to any booking that is:

  • Valued at $300 or more;
  • Regular services

Payment Plans are not available to any booking that:

  • Will have fewer than 2 scheduled services

Payment frequency options may include weekly, fortnight or monthly; but may be subject to the date of your booking. Once you have selected a payment frequency and payment day of the week, the payment dates are as agreed and not changeable.

PAYMENT INSTALLMENT AMOUNT

Each repayment/instalment amount will be specified during the finalisation of the booking process.

All payments that are due will be received by us in accordance within these terms and conditions. Where Gypsea Tails does not receive the full amount owed under the payment plan (in its discretion), this does not constitute a waiver of any debt payable by you.

All payments are in Australian dollars. Gypsea Tails holds no responsibility for additional costs incurred from international or currency conversions fees.

FINAL PAYMENT

Full payment is due within 7 days of the service being carried out (unless otherwise specified). The final payment date and amount for your Payment Plan will be specified during the finalisation of the booking process.

MISSED PAYMENT

If you miss a payment or have an outstanding payment for any reason under the Payment options, this must be paid within 7 days of the service occuring.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON’T PAY

You should contact us if you have missed or know if you are going to miss a payment.

If you do not make or miss a payment under your payment options and you remains in arrears (for any amount) for 2 or more instalments:

  • your Booking may be cancelled; and
  • you may forfeit all repayments made under the arrangement; and
  • you may not be entitled to a refund, subject to any statutory rights.

If you are in arrears for more than 7 days after receiving a service;

  • Further bookings may be cancelled; and
  • you may forfeit all repayments made under the Payment Plan; and
  • you may not be entitled to a refund, subject to any statutory rights.The above-mentioned penalties are applied at the discretion of our Management Team and in the review of the Standard Booking Terms.

CANCELLING OF PAYMENT OPTIONS or CANCELLATION OF SERVICE

You are able to cancel your Payment options. You will need to provide us with notice in writing or by email. 

If cancelling your entire booking, the cancellation policy of the booking will dictate if any refund is due. 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

When you commence a Payment Option with Gypsea Tails, you agree to the following:

  • Your information provided to us must be accurate and complete. This includes providing us with your full legal name and correct billing information. We require your current address, telephone number, email address and in some cases, date of birth or other proof of identification. Any information we hold will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy, as such, some data may be stored with our service providers.
  • Gypsea Tails will make reasonable efforts to ensure that the billing is correct, however, we will not be held liable for any loss, inconvenience or harm caused to you as a direct or indirect result of any act or omission by Gypsea Tails or third-party partners.
  • If any of your details change or become invalid (including your payment details such as your credit card), you must notify us as soon as possible. To avoid cancellation of the Payment Plan and/or booking, you will need to supply new details as soon as possible.
  • You will be liable for the total price of the Booking as at the time of booking (i.e. the day of purchase). Any discounts, promotions or other changes to the tariffs advertised by Gypsea Tails will not apply to the cost of your Booking retrospectively.
  • You are allowed to make additional payments in instalments prior to the service date, however, this will not necessarily change the payment plan debits unless the entire amount is paid.
  • Where we cannot resolve a query or dispute between us, your query or dispute may be referred to our bank (or another third party supplier) who may ask you to provide information in connection with your query or dispute.

YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS

Gypsea Tails takes reasonable steps to ensure that these terms and conditions do not infringe on your rights as a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law. Notwithstanding, these Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
